How can I get into coaching college or high school basketball?
I currently coach a youth 10 and under basketball team and I really enjoy it. I however aspire to coach high school or college but it is so difficult to get into. How can I get a coaching job? What must I do to get a coaching job?
Depends on the state. Call the local high school, talk to the A.D. Schools offer the coaching position to teachers at the school, then to people in the county, including other schools. THen,if nobody takes it, they offer it to the public. I walked into the local high school and got the coaching position after i filled out a one page form. Head JV coach gets about $ 600, for the year. THat aint much. THat is how it is in NC> also, here you have to drive the bus, which means on your own time you have to go learn that too and pass a test.
all in all, just talk to the local A.D> i am sure you can get a job.
